(she/her pronouns)

Hi, my name is Liz and I am a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts. I offer in person appointments at my office in Brookline, as well as virtually via telehealth to others in Massachusetts.

I earned my bachelor’s of science in psychology from Northeastern University, and my doctoral degree in clinical psychology from William James College (formerly known as the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology).  I have worked and trained in both inpatient and outpatient settings with individuals aged across the lifespan. In these various settings I have facilitated treatment with individuals, groups, couples, and families of culturally and diagnostically diverse backgrounds.

During my training years I completed practicums at a local therapeutic school offering mental health support to adolescents, and offering crisis stabilization services for adults experiencing mental health crises in a psychiatric inpatient hospital setting. During my pre-doctoral internship years, I trained at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth in their counseling center providing individual therapy and workshops to university students, and the Integrated Center for Child Development doing neuropsychological assessments on children and adolescents, providing individual psychotherapy, parent coaching, and skills groups for parents and workshops for children with socioemotional challenges. My postdoctoral fellowship was completed at Tufts University in the counseling center providing individual psychotherapy to university students, facilitating a support group for students with undocumented immigration status, and providing workshops to international students and peer mentors. My dissertation focused on understanding the experiences of individuals who have older siblings with high functioning autism and the affects on identity in emerging adulthood.

Prior to my training years, I worked in a primary school in South Africa providing therapeutic services in a local township. I earned my certificate in rape crisis counseling through the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, and supported research projects looking at brain imaging in young adults at Harvard Medical School/Mass General Hospital, and perimenopause and mental illness at UMass Medical School.

All of these prior experiences informed the way I practice today, and positioned me well to support adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. Following the completion of my training, I joined an outpatient group practice called Life Changes Group. There I provided individual psychotherapy to young adults and adults for a wide variety of presenting concerns, until I opened my practice in 2019. I am perinatal mental health certified (PMH-C) by Postpartum Support International, and deeply enjoy supporting folks going through this major life change.

The nature images throughout this website serve as a metaphor for the way I approach the therapeutic services I offer: finding the beauty and darkness in change, the hope of a sunrise, the perseverance it requires to reach a beautiful vista, and continuous growth and development with proper nurturing and support.
