Fees and Insurance
How It Works
Session Fees
We start with a 20-minute phone consultation to make sure we're a good fit. If we decide to work together, here's what sessions cost:
Initial Appointment:
(CPT 90791): $300 for 60 minutes
Ongoing Follow-Up Sessions:
(CPT 90834/90837): $275 for 50 to 55 minutes
Payment is due at each session, and I accept cash, check, and all major credit cards, including HSA cards. The CPT codes above are the billing codes your insurance company will ask for if you seek reimbursement.
Insurance
I'm out-of-network with most insurance companies. I'm in-network with UnitedHealthcare Student Resources for Boston College and Tufts University students only.
Being an out-of-network provider allows me to provide personalized mental health treatment. When therapy is billed through insurance, the insurer often dictates the terms, including session limits, which diagnoses qualify, and what treatment looks like. Working outside the insurance system means that those decisions stay between you and me.
Paying privately also protects your privacy. If you choose not to submit for reimbursement, your diagnosis and treatment details never go to your insurance company. If you do submit, many plans will still reimburse a portion of each session, so you can decide which option works best for you.

I've partnered with Mentaya so you can see what your plan may reimburse before you start. Enter your insurance information in the tool below to get an estimate of your out-of-network benefits in a few minutes.
How Out-of-Network Reimbursement Works
Many insurance plans reimburse a percentage of the cost of therapy with an out-of-network provider.
Here’s how it works:
- You pay for each session at the time of your appointment.
- I provide you with the paperwork your insurance company needs, including the codes for your sessions.
- You submit that paperwork to your insurer. For most people, this is as simple as uploading a document to a portal.
- Your insurer reimburses you for the covered portion, based on your plan.
To understand your coverage, you can call your insurance company and ask:
- Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health care?
- What percentage of the cost is covered?
- Is there a limit on the number of sessions, and over what time period?
- Do I have a deductible, and how much of it have I met?
- How do I submit a request for reimbursement?
- What is the reimbursement rate for CPT codes 90791, 90834, and 90837?
Trying to understand your health insurance coverage can feel like speaking a foreign language. I’m happy to answer any questions that will help utilizing this option feel more accessible to you.
Cancellation Policy
Life happens, so please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged the full session fee of $275.
Insurance companies don't reimburse late cancellation fees, so this charge would be your responsibility.
